After I made it try to comprehend that sentence, my brain and I are no longer on speaking terms.

Another thought: you should call this student into your office, have he or she read the sentence aloud and then have Homey the Clown come in and administer the "I-don't-think-so!-Homey-don't-play-dat" sock-bat-over-the-head bit.
